ACTION: Iodasept ointment contains povidone iodine as an active ingredient (povidone is an excipient that slows down the release of iodine, thus avoiding the burning effect of the latter on tissues). Jodasept is a broad-spectrum disinfectant (disinfectant) active against bacteria, viruses and fungi. It also destroys spore-forming strains (microorganisms that multiply through spores), insensitive to sulfonamides and antibiotics. Iodasept in the form of an ointment has a long-lasting effect due to the prolonged release of iodine from the complex. Due to its broad spectrum of action, it is not necessary to determine in advance the type and strain of the causative agent.
